Welcome back to Mackinac Island! September 24, 2006

A half century after we visited here on our high school senior trip aboard the Great Lakes cruise ship, the S.S. South American, we return to Mackinac Island to renew old friendships and celebrate our time together. The accommodations are considerably nicer than those small shipboard staterooms fifty years ago as we gather at the magnificent Grand Hotel, the largest summer hotel in the world, and enjoy its award-winning hospitality. The beauty and charm of Mackinac Island, America’s second National Park and since 1895, Michigan’s first State Park, are ours to enjoy yet again. When you check into your room, you’ll even find a sample of that world-famous Mackinac Island fudge!

A full schedule of events has been planned for the reunion, details of which are printed in this booklet. We hope you will participate in those activities which interest you and make the most of your attendance at this reunion. Most of all, take time to enjoy being together with friends and classmates and share stories of your life since we all first met.
