So Away We Go To Our 50th Class Reunion.
Wow, it couldn’t have been 50 years ago that a bunch of 17-year-olds stood on the steps of the Grand Hotel, holding hands and saying. “We’ll return in 50 years!” So when the invitation arrived this spring, my answer to. “Will you be there? Was “With bells on”.
One of the neatest things was explaining to the other hotel guests. What a bunch of geriatric people were doing hugging each other and laughing while wearing picture buttons.
Well, husband and I are hunters. (I teach women hunting) So naturally, we end up with the Teddy Roosevelt Lodge!
Before we closed our eyes in our four poster bed, the last view we had was of two stuffed mountain goat heads. We even put our umbrella in the elephant foot umbrella stand. I dated Bob through High School, and we married shortly after graduation. So we celebrated our 50th anniversary in “Teddy’s Room” with the wine and cheese and flowers deal. Many classmates stopped by, who cared if it rained!
There’s an old Fred Astaire song that goes “We’re a couple of swells, we stay at the Grand Hotel”.
Thanks for the wonderful memories.
