In 1995 I started a web site on Webjump called WaterfordAlumni which I maintained for some time until Webjump went belly up. My first mistake was using a FREE service for that first year. Had a little trouble getting to my domain name and retrieving it. In the mean time I set up Waterford-Kettering63.com and shortly there after WaterfordKettering.com all linking up to WaterfordAlumni.com
In the early days when Classmates was a very friendly site to visit we all had a good opportunity to find and communicate with old friends and classmates. When they pulled the plug on many of their services Glen Bradsher and Don Bova had set up a message board/user group called Waterfordalumni. Which is a ‘free’ service for the time being. Glen and Don manage the Waterfordalumni group on Yahoo which has a very big following and generally consists of about 90% WTHS alumni and a smaller portion of WKHS alumni although All Schools, All Years are welcome. Their adventure on Yahoo is through their independant efforts and should be given a ton of credit for bringing together over 500 WTHS and WKHS alumni. Both are working fellows and I just putz so every now and again I throw in a few scents worth. So don’t confuse the two ventures. Give credit where credit is due. Note: If my memory serves me correctly Glen got it all started and they teamed to make it one of the most successful groups on Yahoo.
Waterfordkettering, Waterfordalumni, Waterford-Kettering63 are domains (or more simply, websites) I set up and manage for everyone to browse and hopefully enjoy, and it too, is FREE.
The old links will always work but many of the old pages will be gone as I rebuild the entire site so check back often.
The web site consists of mine and others memories of growing up in Michigan, in particular Drayton Plains, Waterford, Clarkston, Milford and Highland. Even a few Detroit memories.
The Kettering memories go back to the day it opened in 1962. And the Waterford Township portion is dedicated to all those that contribute their memories going all the way back to its early days in the 50’s until it’s cruel destruction. Although it is gone and is now a shopping center, you can never erase the memories. On the pages to follow you will find many classmates and friends that have sent in their thoughts, memories and photos, so keep browsing.
View and sign the GuestBook so we can all stay in touch and pass along a few notes. Visit with Ms Pety so see what she has been up to since her Corvette days. Above all take your time, the site is big and getting bigger. It runs nice if you have DSL but slow loading with AOL and 56k modems, so be patient. Drop over to the WaterfordAlumni Group over at Yahoo.com and keep that going for Don Bova and Glen Bradsher. And if you want to add some new toys, collectibles, satisfy your taste buds or build on your 45 RPM collection surf through the Memorable Links pages.
mike Sorry to report that Ms Pety passed away March of 2005.
