I was the 1949 class president and was active in a lot of things, and I have quite a few photos as well as the yearbook and copies of most issues of the student newspaper for that year.
I graduated from U-M in journalism in 1953, was drafted, then worked as an editor on the Detroit Free Press for eight years and the Washington Post for 32 years until retiring in 1996. I now live outside Washington, have very few remaining contacts in Michigan but have returned several times -- and in 1994 or so visited the old WTHS site.
I'd be glad to send or post some of this material to anyone or any place you might suggest.
