Gladis Johnson, WKHS 1956., 1966, 1967. Tried again in 1968

First day of school I was given a note to leave my dog at home. I didn’t bring a dog. I was very popular in school as I remember everyone cheering as I left a class room. I know they liked me in the lunch room cafeteria since they would give me my own bowl and and a bow tie shaped cookie. They must have thought I was going to be a basketball player because they always made me jump for the cookie.

I always had to walk home from school since the bus driver said no pets were allowed. I still don’t understand that since I didn’t bring a pet. But over all those were some very special years for me, 1965-66-67 and finally in 69 when I graduated for the first time after trying for the last 4 years.
