Sandy and I  in my thinner days! Still have all the hair but many more pounds On one of our trips to Disney World we tried to lose the kids but they always found their way back! Been happily married since July 29th, 1966! Three daughters, Michelle, Lisa and Lori. Michelle was born in San Antonio, Texas, June 23rd, 1968.
And now! Eight grandkids later, Johnathan, Alisha, Jordy, Taylor, Ricky, Nicky, Logan, and the newest one Nicholas Michael.

Sandy supplements our income by doing upholstery. Excellent Upholstery Lady. She has here own website at http://www.upholsterylady.com
Here is a chaise I bought for $30.00, rebuilt and she re-upholstered it. Made in the 1890’s. Used it for a prop in many of my photo shoots.

More of the living room furniture that Sandy Reupholstered. We change furniture often since she belongs to the ‘chair of the month club’.
Funny though! She tires of the furniture often, and out it goes to a friend or she sells it for less then the fabric and labor she has in it. I never get used to it, since it may be gone the next day.

Some of these pieces are very old and very well built but this was a setting or two ago and all this furniture is now in someone elses living room. I did hate th`ose curtains though, so I am glad to see a change there.
Upholstery is very difficult for a one woman show but Sandy does very well with it and has a tremendous following of customers. Many have had the same furniture reupholstered through the years as many as four times. Her only regret is that she puts in by far too many staples and when it comes time to strip the furniture she has to endure the rath of undoing her own work.
We have a nice little portion of the house set aside for her workroom. but it is never enough. She has every type of industrial piece of equipment you could imagine. I have always maintained that you must have the best piece of equipment to do a good job, no matter what it is.
Sandy has had her fair share of toys and this was one of her favorites. A Teal colored 1000 cc Suzuki full dress
We used to ride all the time. Thats my dad, not me before he passed away. We look an awul lot alike which has me worried. I never knew him as I was growing up. My mother divorced him just before I caught Polio. and I had not seen him for thirty sum years. He would have made a much better father then my step father who I have gladly forgotten since he passed away a few years back.
My kids had a great time with my real father and I ended up caring for him for the last 5 years of his life and it was a pleasure to do so. My mother hated the idea until it was time she had to move in. He passed away and then it was time to take care of her until her death in 1998.
This was my only other toy, well nearly my only other toy. My bike. We enjoyed touring and is the one thing we wish we had the time and the strength to do once again. We manufactured motorcyle trailers, called the Travelier and The Explorer! We still see them on the road. The only toy I had that gave me the most pleasure was my 35 foot Owens Fisherman. I enjoyed living on it for a good rest. And I didn’t mind it when the wife kicked me out of the house for one reason or another, I had a place to go to, and a vessel to travel the ocean. So getting in trouble was a weekly choir.
On my first solo trip ran out of gas. Got stranded and had to have people bring me gas. Thats when I found out there were two 150 gallon tanks on board. Nothing more then a flick of a switch! Fiberglass design and manufacturing was a very enjoyable career for me. Loved the plug, mold making and the manufacturing of all kinds of fiberglass products. Never liked to manufacture boats though, so steered away from those clients. Did a lot of marine work, mainly dock boxes, ice chests,on board tanks, etc.
Most proud of some of the unique products like the Golden Chariot Racer. Which is now someones lawn ornament. Life size no less, on the front lawn of a local residence.
We manufactured all types of products from fiberglass, boats which I hated. dock boxes, whirlpools, sinks and bathtubs, etc. The only boat I ever enjoyed was the DULL LOVER which was my first real toy, after the cycles. We did very well with our own design of Travel Trailers for motorcycles. The Travelier! Made hundreds of them and shipped them all over the states. We used to enjoy going on trips just to deliver them to the customer. I would pull one behind my Kawi and Sandy would pull another behind her Teal Suzuki. We had a great time cycling but had to cut it short when my daughter Lisa had a stroke at 16. Shes in her 30’s now and has the cutest little daughter, Taylor. She lives with us along with her husband, my son-in-law, Jeff. We really wouldn’t have it any other way, since we feel so much better being there when they need any help. Lisa gives us a scare every now and again.
Years back my youngest daughter Lori got stuck down on the beach and we were to far from hom to retrieve the car, so we put her in one of the trailers I was pulling, locked the lid and carted her home. Not very smart of me I know, but we couldn’t think of what else to do. This is the actual Traveler Trailer that we carted her home in
Well most of the toys are gone now! Sold the boat after realizing it was nothing more then a hole in the water inwhich I was just throwing money. Gave up the cycles and the businesses when Lisa had her stroke. We miss the cycling and the group of people we met along the way but we have new toys now and Lisa is still with us. .There was a time when we were cycle crazy. I bought Sandy her first bike a 125 Honda, and the kids took it out never getting out of first gear, and burned up the engine. Then we got matching Enduro’s which we soon tired of, since they were so uncomfortable. Then I got her a Honda 450 which couldn’t keep up with by Kawi 1200, so she got a 550 Sportster, that got stolen. From there she went to the Suziki 1000 and loved it to death.

Those were the days. We belonged to a local club called the Silver Eagles and made many a bike run. Lots of fun and something we both enjoyed. I had a Bates front end on mine and it always stood out in the crowd. Had it stolen once or twice but when they found out who owned it, got it back in a very short time. Wasn’t a toughy, just employed a lot of loyal employees who went out of their way to help me locate the thief.

My first company was Unique Products, evolved into Unique Decorative Products, then Fiberglass Design, Glasslike, Incorporated, CRT, Inc. All revolving around fiberglass and or resin products. Bought out another company in those days called the Table Factory when we manufactured all types of fiberglass tables and resin coated tables. Those were the days...
