WTHS/WKHS Bulletin Board.
This is the OLD Bulletin Board for historical value.
Most of the e-mail links are still good but you may find a
few that are no longer active. Take your time, its long. Click Here to go back to Waterford Alumni

I am from the WTHS class of '73 and we are planning our 30-year reunion for next year. The date is August 16, 2003 (Dream Cruise weekend) and it will be held at Hilton Suites in Auburn Hills. Our committee has an e-mail address that people can write to for more information or to give us their address: wths1973reunion@hotmail.com

I venture through the Bulletin Board periodically and can't fine too many folks that graduated in 1960. Would like to hear from some of the grads. I am sure they are still around, I am.

To all you Yahoo'ers that are lost in space and can't get back into Yahoo with the many changes, her are a few tips. You may have to re-register but that is the simple solution. Glenn Bradsher writes; The quality is still therel? Since Yahoos changed from clubs to groups there has been a great drop off on our message board. The quality is still therel, just not the quantity. Maybe some got lost in the shuffle. If you are one of these lost souls who have not been able to locate us, here are directions. Go to Yahoo.com and under connections click onto groups. When groups load up, the groups you are a member of will load up. (Not always so remember you will be searching for WATERFORDALUMNI IF YOU HAVE TO DO A SEARCH TO GET BACK IN Just click onto Waterfordalumini and you will be found.(If not found, just re-register) Once there click onto edit my membership in the upper right, so that you can set your membership preferences. Set it to receive email messages if you want to stay up with the rest of the group. I am sending this posting as a special notice so that every member will get an email. When you recieve this in your email box, click on reply and then send it back to me. There is no need to include text, I just want to get a count so that I can determine if all 532 members recEIve it. Glenn

Mike could you post this message on all the other web sites for Waterford/Drayton Plains school alumni or anyone else out there for that matter.... I don’t belong to them and don’t want to pay just to get the word out about me having a tent set up on Woodward and 13 mile for the yearly Woodward Dream Cruise. It's sort of a meeting place. A place to talk to others from your school or to leave your info so others can get in touch with you. Bring your year books too. I'll have mine but they will only be for '68 and '69 (You just might run into that long lost love!!??! :) I’ll be there from Friday afternoon until Saturday night August 16 and 17. I'll even have info on the reunion in Florida this Oct. Want anymore info e-mail me at donna@urbanideas.com

Looking for any old friends or classmates. I lived on Pontiac Lake on Arlington. I attended Waterford-Kettering until 1963, when I moved and graduated from Waterford Township High in 1964. Those were good years and good times. My sister is Gail Johnson, graduated in 1963 after marrying Ray Fulkerson. Would especially like to hear from anyone that lived on the lake.

How many of you WKHS and WTHS grads would be interested in stopping by a booth during the Woodward Dream Cruise this August if I was to set one up?? Good idea or bad idea?? Waste of my time? All it would be is a place for you stop by and see if you find an old girlfriend, boyfriend, look at year books, and just have a mini reunion.. I supply the tent, paper, pencil, and some chairs. You supply the year book and memories. If you haven't ever been at the cruise before it is THE place to be. To see the cars you use to drive when you cruised Woodward back when you took dad’s car for a spin. Look at the hottest cars, the fastest cars and even the funniest cars and trucks. One year there was an old Garbage Truck with people hanging all over it trying to “lay rubber” donna

Hi Folks: Just a few wonderings: What ever happened to: The members of "MOTHRA"...Steve Golden (last seen as a drug store supplier..cosmetics and such) or Bob Dustman (last heard on Pontiacs own WPON radio or Don Douglas...is he the president of GMC UAW?.....and the ever laughing and smiling Pamala Spaysky...and tall slim and smart Cynthia Dalton...and Quiet but funny John Alexander or laughter of Thomas Bailey...last seen boarding a truck bound for washington state with our Engllish Teacher Mr. Bevan. Where is the quiet and unassuming Bill Aspenwall? Or the Petite Linda Beauchamp, wise beyond her years...last seen at A White Lake Grocery, Remember Sharon Hoffmans memorable performance as the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz, under Patty Loomis's capable direction or Sue Jackson 's skipping peformance in the same oz . And Christine Hofman, saw her a long time ago at one of those annual walks across Machinaw Bridge...burr was it cold....or Carole McDonald who was my nurse at St. Josephs hospital in the nursery when I had my first daughter (who now has two children of her own...born at St. Josephs here in North Carolina.....Is Karen McKenna still as SKINNY as she was then in 64?.....or Gladys Maxim, and Diane Irish, talented and always kind to all....Gary Ormsby...are you still inventing mechanical wonders?...Remember smoking in the "john" and Ms. Puhl relishing the policing of the johns...or the Varsity club taking issue on their own and policing the "johns", or lovable Larkin and common sence Moffitt guiding ourminds on the field or driving range...Mr. Lyle Anger a great drivers training coach..mine at least...still can hear him instructing us on what and how and so on while behind the wheel....or Mr. Kaminski trying to inspire Beowolfe and Chaucer ( I finally caught on 30 years later and often say tahnkyou silently). Kitsa Iakovides, the salt of the earth, a pilar in any storm, where are you? The cheerleaders, drawing out and magnifying our "school spirit", THE DEBATING TEAM " SHOWING OUR BRIGHTER SIDE, The swim Team, The football, basketball teams...Earl Hook stands out in my mind, and most of all, all that worked on the yearbook committees...for without all that work, we wouldn't have the BOOK to pour over and remember those really carefree days...and what a world we graduated into...the VIETNAM WAR, recession, inflation, one little war, then police actions, peacekeeping exercises, and on it goes. Life has never been the same since we walked the last time thru those "Hallowed Doors". I often wonder if our teachers foresaw what awaited us. Many of the dear souls who framed our minds are long since gone, Bless them all. We have a lot to be thankful for. Right down to the pretty good meals served in the cafeteria...have you eaten lunch in the public schools lately. UCKKKKK!!! We had it good then. And for once, I can truly say, THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLE DAYS.

Never got an answer when I ask my folks why, they never did tell me,whould just like to know if their still with us. lost my brother Rick in Nam in 67,which makes me wonder who else. I became the first professional Firefighter-EMT/Truama Specialist in the country,so I did something for all of you to remember me by. I'm "handicapped" now broken neck and lower back, lost my left leg,but I'm still in there fighting. I start College for Graphic Arts and Software Programing, only I can stop me,'cause if you can use a computer you can get a College Degree & Tele-commute to work. Write if you want, don't wait for Sadie Hawkin's Day!! And Pontiac Northern will always be our rival.

I never thought high school was important until I recieved an e-mail from a friend. I now think it was cruel for the educational system to foster friendships between us and then break them apart though districting. If you would like information for Bob Bruce (Early 60's Township),Becky Bruce (Early 60's Kettering), or Bonny Bruce (1969 Kettering) please feel free to contact me and I will relay the message if possible.

Waterford Kettering 1963! 1963 was such a long time ago. The second graduating class from WKHS. Have been wondering about the classmates and who has done what. Have never received any information about class reunion so have never attended one. There have been a lot of miles and adventures since then. A lot of successes and a few non-successes. A lot of stories to share. Now living in the Sacramento area where I no longer have to shovel snow.

Waterford Kettering 1962 Hi Mike Just joined Classmates.com. Was just skimming over some of the photo's etc. Sure brings back memories. Have always wanted to know to what happened to some of my mates from "62". Loking at some of the kids from even "63" I know and remember. One was Dru Hotchkiss and of course many more. I just wish I could help you out on other classmates, but during "62" I moved to Walled Lake H.S. area and married a girl from Milford H.S. and joined the Air Force for 21 years, seen the world and retired in Califorina and have since moved to Phoenix. I almost forgot to say, but during my years in Waterford Township I went by Aunt& Uncle last name of Lloyd . So all of my Township records and all the friends I had or have know me by Jim Lloyd ???? MY, my,my! It has been a long time . I fled the michigan winters and headed south, settled half way south in Asheville, NC. Close to where I was born, but a city about the size of Pontiac (without all the problems and SNOW). I make frequent trips to Waterford, where my mother and sister still live. Drove our l964 Ford up for this summers sDREAM CRUISE and had a ball. Ran into Brian Palzack who is now retired from GM and living in St. Helen...he was showing his nifty street rod. Also bumped into John Burgess, with his vintage corvette. We do the DREAM CRUISE, as my "life partner" loves anything to do with cars. I have owned my own business for 22 years now, thought at first we would starve, but hung in there and it is going great. I have 3 beautiful daughters, who managed to bring 6 more (and one more on the way) grandchildren. I enjoy visiting Waterford and checking out all the new places, things, and so on, and find myself at times thinking of times in the past. The only one I see every trip is SANDY ALLEN, and we just sorta always bump into each other unplanned. Often I find myself staring at faces, thinking...that looks like so and so...no that was how they used to look, they can't look like that now, cause I sure don't look like I used to in 1964! Makes one think about a face lift more seriously. Actually, I haven't changed much, I still think I am a younger person than my drivers license says I am. I spend a lot of time in the mountains hiking and even manage to catch my dinner . I am getting more excentric as I get older, have a treehouse that I can live in, up in the mountains of Graham County. It has all the comforts of home EXCEPT a TV. I call it the PHARM...it is on the land my grandparents farmed, but I call it the PHARM, which is short for Pharmacy...a place for stree relief! And it works. After 24 hours , I am completely recharged and can take on the customers clammering to redecorate their houses, businesses and so on. I wonder at times, when the class of 64 is going to have a reunion? I am along way away, but it seems to me that these computers have elimated any distances what so ever. And I can help. Anyone else out there interested? Kerrie Cook

Waterford Township High...graduated in 1961. Seeing the picture of the school building makes me so sad that it's now gone. My Mom bought my sister, Kathy, and I one brick each from the building, that the school district sold when the building was torn down. I have so many wonderful memories of my years there...so many friends...so many great experiences. We are NEVER too old to remember those years. I would love to hear from some of my classmates. I have lost touch with most since I moved away from Michigan just a few months after graduation. My parents kept me updated on things as they saw them in the newspaper, but now my dad has passed away and my mom moved out here a year ago so my ties to Waterford are no longer there. Remember? "Stand up and cheer for the Skippers of our Fleet! We're going to win this game. Stand up and cheer for the team that can't be beat, when victory is our aim. When the seas are getting rough and the going's getting tough, we'll sail on like men of old. So, stand up, stand out, stand up and cheer and shout for the Waterford Blue and Gold!" Judy

OK, mark your calendars. The 1st Annual Waterford All School, All Year in Florida Reunion will be held Sunday October 6, 2002. It will be at the Inlet Harbor Restaurant in Ponce Inlet, Fl. It will start at noon. Food and beverage will be their regular menu. There is wonderful seating outdoors along the Halifax River however, if the weather is, how do I say it, crappy, there is an inside section with plenty of seating. More to follow but pencil it in and let others know. Remember this is for WTHS, WKHS & WMHS (of course, if a Clarkston or West Bloomfield person or two comes along they are also welcome) and for all graduating years. (Click on the banner on the home page for Don's Web site and stay tuned)

1964 WKHS Mike - I just heard about your site. It was fun moving around but I didn't get to see much of it. I still have your letters from when we communicated by fax in 93. I wondered what happened since then - you said communication was difficult because of the hurricane. I only got my first computer about 2 years ago. It is a Mac and is hooked up at work for typesetting for the family printing business I bought from my parents. I don't get to spend as much time on the computer playing as people who have them at home. What time I do spend on the net is probalby 95% Mich State sports related. The biggest news I have to bring you is how much I enjoy the Wayne State University Public Radio station. Weekdays between 10 and 3 it is a mixture of contemporary, jazz, blues, bluegrass with some 50's and 60's worked in. On saturday, is the best. 10-12 is "Blues from the Lowlands." It always reminds me of listening to your blues albums like John Lee Hooker, Albert King etc. 12-3 is folk ! ("Folks Like Us"?). The folk music is mostly contemporary but is essentially what I came to appreciate in the 70's. 3-5 is bluegrass and I forget what the name of the show is. It makes my day and my musical week as I don't care to listen to music during the week so much as talk/sports radio. I don't know if they bradcast on the web but their call letters are WDET on 101.9. It's about the only music I crank up anymore and I think mainly because it makes me feel much like the teenagers we were when we went to Detroit and hung around the record shops all day. Like I said, this computer is at work, it is 6:30pm and I'm going to put it and me to bed (or at least go home). Good finding you and "talking". - Ken
